How can I get my website to rank faster?

Do you know how to make your website rank at the top faster?

What is the difference between a top ranked site and an unremarkable, no value added, thin e-commerce site? Keyword ranking has changed over just the last few years as websites in the past had fewer competitors, so it was much easier for them to rank.

If your goal is to compete against established high traffic websites, then you need a comprehensive understanding of how to strategically apply and place keywords or work with a good public relations firm that can help you utilize your brand strategy or concentrate on a remarkable feature that makes people want to talk about your goods or services. It is difficult to compete with companies that have a familiar brand and have been at the top for years.

If you could roll back the clock, and quickly grab market leading positions, would you?

Whether you want to rebuild an existing website or create a new one, if you want your rankings to escalate, then the key is not to attack directly, but to attack indirectly.

Attacking indirectly means that some of your product page content should contain keywords that are not the same but similar to that which the competition is targeting, but obscure long tail keyword phrases words are going to be easier to rank.

Keyword Modifiers are words that are added to your main keywords to attract specific clientele. Modifiers can be niche related, geo specific or just generally related to the main keyword.

Using a less popular version of a keyword. When doing keyword searches, don’t just use the singular version of the search, use plurals as well. Google knows the word means the same thing, but the search results will still come up different.

Mixing up page optimization by placing your keyword phrase in Page titles and H1 headers a little differently. For example; lets say you are talking about credit cards. In the headline, you might say something like “The best credit cards”. In the H1, you may change it and say, “The top credit card offers”. While the focus is on credit cards, you have used a singular and plural version of the word.

Long-tail keywords are used by people who really care about the topics they are searching for and want specific information. By using the credit card example above, a long-tail keyword would be something like, “the top credit card offers with low interest rates”. This will not only target those looking for credit cards, but will capture those looking for a specific attribute of the credit cards.

Commercial keywords are hard to compete with in today's world. Companies that have been around for years have that market cornered. Be specific about what makes your product different to those searching. Use phrases like “how to” with content that will solve a searcher’s problems. For example; May people may search for “how to build my credit score” instead of “building my credit score”. Searches want answers now and not have to waste time reading a hundred pages before they find their answer.
